Strategic Plan

This past summer  (August 9th, 10th, 12th & 16th) North Smithfield Schools developed a new Strategic Plan. A school district’s Strategic Plan guides the District's educational philosophy, aspirations for student achievement and fiscal decision-making.

We were honored to have Peg Votta facilitate this important process. Peg is a parent of three children in North Smithfield Schools. Her experience with the Rhode Island Department of Education in the office of Data and Analysis and expertise with strategic planning is well known. We truly thank her for volunteering to lead the North Smithfield Strategic Plan process.

A team of community representatives, parents, teachers, administrators and business owners joined together for four days this summer to develop the plan.  Thank you to all who participated!

The Rhode Island Bacic Educational Program (BEP) specifically guided this process, the BEP is a set of regulations that identifies measurable standards for RI Public Shools designed to ensure that high-quality education is available to all public school students.

The following attachments include: (1) The final Stragegic Plan document, (2) The power point presentation delivered to the school committee, (3) The Initial Analysis preparatory work sheet and (4) The 3-day agenda. Please check back as we will be adding more information to this page.
